With the newest PowerPC machines (PPC603@120MHz) you will run as 2.4x the speed
of a PC601@110Mhz and 3x the speed of a pentium, and run OS2 Warp, and PCI
slots.
The P6 is a VLIS chip (very long inst. set) so you need less memory, but no
parallel processing is posible (Well is not posible on CISC, or very, very
dificult), and the chip will take time to develop. I prefer PowerPC chips, they
are small, fast, (RISC based) and, since PPC tech is not that complex as the P6
chip, When the P6 is out, PowerPC will have a chip much faster.
A PMac 7100@66MHz will go much faster than a Pentium using Adobe Photoshop and
Fractal Painter 3.0, I have tested in my ofice. Pentium machines will save the
file much faster compared to a PowerMAC. Video Scroll is faster on a Pentium
(Video on PC's is much faster)
I own one PMac 8100@110MHz, Two 7100@66, One Compaq P90, and one A4000@40.
The Amiga pays for my bills! :-) I will try Lightwave on the P90, I hope
Newtek bring out Lightwave for PowerMac.

David Wright
